Edward, the Black Prince (1330-1376)
Edward was son of Edward III of England and heir of the English throne.
Edward of Woodstock or Black prince (he maybe worn a black armor) was hero of Battles of Crecy and Poitiers where the English army caused a terrible defeat to the French knights. He also fought in battle of Calais, Reims and Limoges.
His career was cut short triumphant dying at age 46, before he succeeded his father on the throne of England.
The Black Prince appeared in A Knight's Tale movie.
Black Prince was played by James Purefoy. He saved life of W. Thatcher (character inspired by William Marshall) played by Heath Ledger.
