Medieval Pike

Infantry weapon used in late medieval and renaissance times.

The Spanish Pike by Marto of Toledo Spain is a reproduction of a 16th century Pike used by the Spanish infantry, fighting in the feared tight formation called "tercio". The handle is made of wood, ornamented with fringed fabric plumes. The head is made in cast metal with a frontal axehead with double curved edge, a rear talon and a central straight spike. The etched floral motif decorations denote that this pike is a parade arm.
